Lars Larsen

The 1845 census of Nyker lists a Lars Larsen, 23 years old, a farm-workerat 14 Vdg., single and born in Østerlars parish. Every indicates thatthis is the correct person. The census also shows another Lars Larsen,40 years old, married to Kirstine Lyster; he is more than likely to bethe out-of-wedlock father, since he would have been 18 years old in 1823.

Lars Larsen was a married man when he fathered the out-of-wedlock childLaurits Andreas Mogensen, and we can see that Laurits was given hismother's surname.

The only Lars Larsen shown in the 1850 census of Klemensker was 28 yearsold and born in Østerlars; he was married to a Dorthea Hartvig, born inRønne. They had two daughters: Laurensie Dorthea Hartvig, 3, andKaroline Christine Hartvig, 2. The family can not be found in the 1855census, so they must have moved from Klemensker parish.
